What we welcome

We are interested in original essays and explainers about values, boundaries, consumption, rituals and identity. A strong contribution takes one distinct question, gives it room to breathe and offers readers a useful way to think, notice or decide without presenting personal preference as a universal rule.

Make the pitch specific

Include a working title, the central idea, the intended reader and the main takeaway. Say why the subject is worth a closer look and how your approach differs from familiar advice. For a personal essay, explain what your experience can illuminate while keeping any claims within what that experience can support.

Before sending

Proposals should be original, clearly written and grounded in material the writer can support. Disclose relevant commercial interests or prior publication. Please send the proposal, not a completed article, through the Contact page; an invitation to pitch is not a promise of publication or payment.
